Goodbye, Short-Term Memory!
In the last three minutes I had the full intention of what I was going to do in the next three minutes lodged securely in my brain, lost, and then found again.
Funny thing is, it all revolved around my blog. Just a few minutes ago, I closed my internet browser, but then I thought, I should check my blog and see what the last thing I wrote about was. So I log into my internet browser again, and of course my email pops up because that is my homepage. After checking my one new mail message, I completely lost what I was going to do next.
I sat staring at my screen for a good solid minute, searching my brain for what it was I was about to do, shaking my head, laughing at myself. I could not believe how my memory disappeared so quickly for such a simple task. "Come on brain, can't you keep it together for three minutes?" I can picture the little people in my head scrambling around searching for the information that just dropped off the face of the earth in a split-second.
Of course, what brought me back to my thought was my next thought that this situation would be a funny thing to write about. This brought me back around full circle, because I was initially just trying to check my blog in the first place.
What is the explanation for this I wonder? I had two beers last night, and two Cokes today. It's got to be one of the two, probably both. Only water for me, then. Geez, I'm losing it.
